Don Jon's Fortune Cookies for Madden

Just a week or two late but all is good I hope. My ancestors have told me what they said for every team at this point of the season.

AFC EAST:

My ancestors are not too surprised about what’s been going on there. Jets and Dolphins are battling it for first while the Patriots are looking forward to the draft. Patriots if you’re reading this please get it together before ZBD sends a horses head to your bed. My ancestors are surprised by the Bills though. Getting rid of Josh Allen maybe was the right call. Nonetheless this is a tight race, but my ancestors believe that the Dolphins will win this division. However, do not be dismayed Jets and Bills, you three will make the playoffs as WC teams because the Texans exist.

AFC North:

To the shock of no one, Ravens have had multiple users, and the Browns are back and threatening to take the division. Bengals have a great passing game but being 14th in scoring tells my ancestors that they can’t close the deal, and with their poor defense this could be what the Browns need to take the division.

Don Jon’s fortune cookie says: as more things change, more things stay the same.

AFC South

We might as well rename this division Texans and friends because I don’t see anyone beating out the Texans for the division. Titans had a good shot at WC, but the brutal loss to the lowly Cardinals may have hampered that. This division is doomed to never seeing the playoffs as long as Texans are still around.

Don Jon’s Fortune Cookie says: if you want something to change, you need to change first.

AFC West

Figured it was going to be a huge runaway for the Raiders back in week 1. While it’s not too incorrect with how the division has played out. In my ancestors minds the Broncos still could overtake the division, but we also believe that they may not. Chiefs we expect a return next year. Chargers, just be glad you don’t have a ZBD hunting you down.

Don Jon’s fortune cookie says: fate is fickle, so take control of control of it instead of sitting around doing nothing about it.

NFC East:

It’s clear that the Eagles are taking the division. We are more interested in who will take second. Why? Because of how the entire conference is doing the seventh seed could actually go to anyone. I mean for those with a losing record a lot has to go their way. But not the Giants. They have a good shot in securing their spot in the playoffs. But if the cowboys can get their run game going they could beat out the Giants. Commanders you’re better off praying to higher being because my ancestors are dumbfounded.

Don Jon’s Fortune Cookie says: it’s okay to not settle for the best, the second best is also good.

NFC North:

This division is very very tight. Bears will need to be damn near perfect moving forward if they want to stay in first. Having the number 1 offense is almost meaningless if the defense is near the bottom at this point of the season. Lions have a good balance of offense and defense statistically, but they are 21st in scoring so they can get yards but they can’t close the deal. While the Packers boast a good red zone defense, but everything else is left to be desired. Vikings might just have had bad luck in scheduling or something.

Don Jon’s Fortune Cookie says: there’s no time to rest if you want to be the best. Nothing is set and the winds of change is blowing. It’s up to you on how to be prepared

NFC South

Initially my ancestors believed the Bucs were going to take the NFC conference. However with the change in ownership the odds have changed, but changed very slightly. The Bucs are still favored to take the division, but the Saints seemed to be poised to change that narrative, if they could figure out how offense actually works.

Don Jon’s fortune cookie says: defense wins championships, but you will need offense to get you there first.

NFC west:

This season it’s the Niners division to lose if he wants. My ancestors do not foresee the Niners losing this division this season. Seahawks my ancestors expected a much better passing game this season, but we also think everyone else did so they were prepared to stop the pass. Do not sleep on the Cardinals either. They seemed to have defense figured out. Keyword is seemed because they only won three games so far. My ancestors will see how this unfolds.
